Celtic could offer the SPFL a streaming solution for the resumption of football.

German and English football is gearing up for the resumption of matches played Behind Closed Doors with fans watching the action live on telly, phones and tablets.

Every EPL match and Bundesliga fixture already gets the full TV treatment with multiple cameras and each game available to be watched in full soon after the final whistle.

Other than live games on Sky or BT Sport most SPFL fixtures are covered by at most three cameras as clubs provide some sort of in-house service for overseas customers.

Thousands of Celtic fans across the world already watch every SPFL match as it happens through Celtic TV with a further expansion now planned.

IMG Arena work with Israeli firm Pixellot to provide fixed camera production of matches for rights holders and betting firms with the costs reported to be £20,000 per ground for the system which is operated remotely.

The Daily Record reports:

Celtic have also been using Pixellot to optimise their analysis from each first-team game. The champions have utilised the combination of Stats Perform’s SportVU system and Pixellot’s automatic video production system, as designed for elite football clubs.

Pixellot’s expertise generates three types of video for any club’s team of performance analysts to take advantage of.

Those are Panoramic View which not only captures the full pitch in a single shot, but one that the match analyst can then zoom into anywhere on the pitch, whilst also creating extra videos from multiple areas of the pitch simultaneously.

A Tactical View that is an automatically-generated live video that tracks all 20 outfield players to keep them in shot at all times and a Traditional View which produces live video that follows the play and the ball to simulate a clean feed which sits alongside the panoramic or tactical feed.

Pixellot co-founder Gal Oz explained: “We are the most-used platform in the world when it comes to creating sports footage. Not in terms of viewers. These are small-scale events, but in terms of the number of events.”

“We provide rich automatic graphics and an option to integrate commentators. Those are the production building blocks and they are the same building blocks whether it is for community center games or a professional basketball league with no traditional television broadcasting partner.”

Fans watching the Traditional View is an alternative to playing Behind Closed Doors with The Joint Response Group for Scottish football setting up five sub-groups with Celtic represented on the 11-strong Broadcasting and Innovation Group which is chaired by Neil Doncaster.
