Since January there has been a bizarre transfer triangle running between two clubs in Glasgow and Belgian side Genk.
Without a first team appearance in over a year it was obvious that Eboue Kouassi needed to leave Celtic with a loan deal to Genk opening the door to his exit after three difficult years in Scotland.
Soon after Genk secured the Ivorian they were keen to shift Ianis Hagi out the club, with no interest from Real Madrid or Manchester City they found Ross Wilson anxious to bring in a big name to Ibrox.
Some Celtic fans felt that their club had been duped but as Steven Gerrard’s SPFL challenge collapsed as he accommodated his marquee midfielder that feeling quickly passed over.
Sevco furloughed staff, taxpayer paying 80% of their salary.
Deferred the salaries of the playing staff for 3 months (at least).
Offloaded several players.
Buy Hagi for £3m, payable over 3 years.
Genk ask Sevco to pay the £ to Celtic to offset against Kouassi fee?
Correct?

On Monday Genk announced the permanent signing of Kouassi but there has still been no confirmation from Celtic, the transfer window remains closed.
Last night for 30 minutes Genk’s website claimed that Hagi’s move to Ibrox had been made permanent.
Football fans are famous for putting two and two together, something isn’t adding up involving Genk with the Belgian side perhaps needing to see the colour of the money from Douglas Park before Celtic can confirm that Kouassi has left the building.
