Tom English took defeat badly, even questioning content on his employer’s website!
After a month-long blinkered campaign to crash the SPFL to stop 9-in-a-row news emerged just after 3pm yesterday that all that energy had been wasted.
Just 13 clubs had shown their gratitude for his tireless campaigning. The WhatsApp messages shared from Inverness, the promptings that came in from Gorgie and the platform of the state broadcaster to share his views.
All that for 13 votes, apparently a significant number he told a BBC podcast. That 13 was made up mainly of the teams in bottom place and second top of their division plus a few randoms like Stenhousemuir.
When Twitter revealed that Stenny chairman Iain McMenemy is an advisor to the Orange Order his vote and new found role as a BBC Scotland favourite was easy to explain.
In the 24 hours leading up to the EGM vote English’s desperation saw him just on any morsel to support his crusade. Statements from Kelty Hearts and Stenhousemuir were highly significant, when Brechin City exposed a clear lie in the Ibrox dossier he body swerved it then claimed that there were two sides to every story. The irony was lost on the chief sports writer at BBC Scotland.
In the next few days Celtic will be confirmed as Premiership champions for 2019/20, no doubt launching another outpouring of anger from English.

Bitter Tom can’t stand the SPFL vote went in their favour, that’s democracy.
Now reduced to nip picking comments from the SPFL board, pathetic!

I think Tom went on the lash after his heroes lost the vote, woke up in his own pish, saw the headline was from his employers, felt obliged to respond and thought ‘feck it – might as well find out what they’re talking about’. Anyone got a better guess ?!
