Chris Jullien gets it! In less than a year the giant defender has picked up exactly what it means to be at Celtic at this stage in the club’s history.

At the end of June Celtic completed the £7m transfer of the defender from Toulouse who was to fill the gap in defence caused by the departures of Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic.

He watched from the bench as Celtic were knocked out of the Champions League, at Fir Park against Motherwell he didn’t look at ease despite a 5-2 victory. Questions were being asked if he was the real deal or not.

At Ibrox in September he breezed his way through the derby match. As he celebrated the two goals and the final whistle with 800 away fans he realised the movie that he had walked into.

As the season developed so too did his influence. He scored a winning header against Lazio in the Europa League then clinched the first trophy with the only goal of the game in the December League Cup Final.

When the going was tough at Hamilton in February he showed the instinct of a striker to put Celtic in front with ten minutes left to play.

Despite Lockdown he stayed behind in Glasgow, today he celebrated his first and Celtic’s ninth successive title win.

As an enthusiastic user of social media he knows that today’s celebrations will be nothing compared to what can be expected next season if Neil Lennon’s side again prove themselves to be the best in Scotland.
