Neil Lennon is hopeful that Odsonne Edouard will remain at Celtic for the 10-in-a-row bid.

The Frenchman delivered an impressive 22 goals from 25 SPFL starts and two substitute in the season just finished with that sort of strike rate pivotal to Celtic’s ninth title win on the bounce.

Ryan Christie, Callum McGregor and James Forrest contributed 30 SPFL goals but retaining the Frenchman will give everyone associated with the club a massive boost.

Edouard has three SPFL winners’ medals in his collection which together with his reputation for delivering on the international front ensures that every top club in Europe is aware of his development.

Liking and sharing social media posts from elsewhere is a fairly innocent way of indicating that you are looking to move elsewhere but throughout his time at Celtic there hasn’t been a hint of restlessness from the former Paris Saint Germain striker.

Lennon is starting to put his plans together for pre-season training and told The Sun that he remains confident he’ll have Edouard as a central part of his 2020/21 plans:

It is inevitable there will be speculation surrounding Odsonne because of the player and talent he is.

He hasn’t said anything to me about wanting to go. Whether that changes over the next while, we don’t know but we have him on a really good contract and we are in a strong position to rebuff any interest in him.

We don’t want to sell him. We are happy with him and he seems quite happy here. We are going for ten in a row and that might be a big motivating factor for him to stay.

When he joined Celtic on a permanent basis in June 2018 for £9m Edouard signed a four year contract.
