Another pair of Celtic Concept kits emerged last night with the white Lisbon-style round collar catching the eye.
The balance between a traditional look matched with the introduction of a kit manufacturer is difficult to get right with the Adidas stripes down the sides breaking the hoops unlikely to be popular.
Celtic switched to hoops in 2002, ironically as they prepared to celebrate One Hundred Years of the Hoops Umbro brought in panels down the side. That kit wasn’t popular to begin with but since Martin O’Neill’s side reached the UEFA Cup Final in Seville it is recalled much more fondly.
Revisiting Celtic x Adidas tonight. What if the 3-Stripe brand went back to the trefoil? Channelling the1996 Away too. p.s. the Adi-stripes are subtle on these ? #Celtic #CelticFC #Bhoys pic.twitter.com/pmlqad2jk1

Celtic should always play in hoops not bars.

Put this together when first starting out with concepts. Would hope to come up with something that is a bit more refined, now ? pic.twitter.com/Ccu7PTxevO

Excellent work. Think folks will be praying for the home to look like that this coming season.

Earlier this week Celtic confirmed that their new deal with Adidas will go ahead on July 1 but the first match with the new kit is still not known.
The players will wear Adidas training kit in July but there is no sign yet on when UEFA will start qualifiers for next season’s Champions League.
This season’s competition was halted halfway through the Round of 16 with UEFA having the twin problem of finishing the 2019/20 competition while planning for next season’s qualifiers.
Four qualifying rounds of home and away matches seems unlikely with quarantine restrictions in place in many countries with the UK Government discussing a plan for a fortnight’s quarantine for airport arrivals from June 1.
