Ally McCoist didn’t hold back as he hit out at Rod Stewart after the entertainer said that the Premiership title should be awarded to Celtic.
Over the 10 games before football was suspended on March 13 Neil Lennon’s side stretched their lead at the top of the table from two to 13 points.
With eight matches left to play and Steven Gerrard’s side losing to Kilmarnock, Hearts and Hamilton the 2019/20 crown seemed certain to be heading for Celtic when play came to a halt.
On TalkSport yesterday Stewart had stated the obvious going as far as saying that he’d expect Celtic to concede the title if the roles were reversed- McCoist was having none of it!
? “That’s nonsense from Rod!”
? “There still is a chance that Rangers could catch Celtic!”
? “How can you give people titles!? Titles have to be won!”

The three lower SPFL divisions have already been decided on average points per game with 80% of clubs voting in favour of that motion.
The board of the SPFL have permission to decide the Premiership on the same basis but are working with UEFA to ensure Champions League and Europa League places for the 2020/21 season.
