At the start of October life could hardly have been sweeter for Steven Gerrard.
Sunday the sixth was a Blue Letter Day. Celtic had lost away to Livingston quickly followed by a 5-0 Ibrox rout of Hamilton led by a Jermain Defoe hat-trick.
A month after losing at home to Celtic, Gerrard’s side were top of the league. Ryan Kent was on his way back from injury, what could possibly go wrong in the months ahead.
Michael Beale’s side lost the most one-sided cup final in history but at the end of December justice was done with a title winning performance at Celtic Park, in a show of dignity Gerrard screamed into the Sky Sports camera.

We had a discussion, I’m asking questions, asking for reasons why we played ourselves into this rut and why confidence is so low because we have got real good players in the dressing room. These don’t look like the group of players that were doing ever so well a short time ago.
