SPFL Premiership clubs will hold a conference call on Monday at 10am which could give the board the conditions to call the 2019/20 season. Making Celtic champions and relegating Hearts.

The board of the SPFL has a mandate with over 80% of member clubs voting in favour of concluding the season based on average points per game. On that basis Dundee United, Raith Rovers and Cove Rangers have been confirmed as champions and promoted to the division above.

Confirming Celtic as Premiership champions is a more contentious issue with the SPFL board wanting to keep certain clubs sweet as they confirm Celtic as champions for the ninth season running.

Early on in today’s Sportsound show on Radio Scotland Chris McLaughlin revealed that a conference call will be held at 10am on Monday to resolve the issue. Calling the season over allows the board to pay out £7m in prize money among the top 12 clubs.

UEFA require the SFA to nominate clubs for their 2020/21 competitions by May 25 with that deadline fast approaching.
