A Mark Warburton lookalike has put some of the best Banter Years moments of Charles Green to song.

Back in May 2012 the big handed Yorkshire businessman breezed onto the scene at Ibrox as the unlikely saviour of the club that was three months into administration.

Sheffield United fans warned of the damage that he had caused at their club with fans at media initially sceptical of Green’s arrival with his surname on the back of Craig Whyte’s involvement the first hint of the fun that was around the corner.

When Green’s CVA failed Walter Smith and Richard Gough were among the first to wish the new club, Sevco 5088 the best of luck.

With the offer of the same bumper salary and a significant shareholding Green identified Ally McCoist’s only motivation with the former Question of Sport skipper quickly clambering on board.

Suddenly the Scottish media were on-side, Green accused the SPL of bigotry against his club and followed that up by handing out cups of tea to fans queueing up for season tickets o watch Lee McCulloch and Ian Black in action against Peterhead and Annan.

Green’s greatest achievement was raising £20m from a share issue in December 2012 with fans paying 70p per share having set up the company with himself, Mike Ashley and McCoist getting shares for 1p.

Within a year Green had stepped down from and is believed to be enjoying the high life at his castle in Normandy.
