Dave Cormack is hoping that Pittodrie can host crowds of 3-5,000 by November.

A crowd of 5,000 would represent 25% of Pittodrie’s capacity with the equivalent at Celtic Park being 15,000.

Those sorts of numbers would provide some hope for supporters as they renew season tickets with little known about how many matches they will be able to attend in the new season.

Clubs can resume training on Thursday but only if they have the proper testing equipment which will allow players to return in groups of five initially with no physical contact permitted.

Testing players twice a week is essential to move forward but so far Celtic and Ross County are the only clubs to have paid out for the equipment which costs £35,000 allowing test results to be turned around in 24-36 hours.

Aberdeen could share the start up costs with Dundee United and St Johnstone but until Thursday it won’t be clear which clubs are back in training with a view to starting the season on August 1.
