After finally admitting on last weeks Super Scoreboard that he wanted an asterisk against Celtic’s title win, Alex Rae switched his thoughts to International Law tonight.
The former St Mirren and Dundee boss has been desperately hunting for ways to discredit Celtic’s title win although he fell strangely quiet when Neil Lennon joined the show on the night that the title win was confirmed.
Shortly before tonight’s show started Rae was informed that Waasland-Beveren were taking the Belgian Pro-League to court to challenge their relegation to the second tier after being in bottom spot after 29 rounds of fixtures.
Ding! A dim light went on for Rae as he equated the fate of Beveren with Hearts, a precedent, or maybe a president, being set in Belgium for Ann Budge to take to a Scottish court.
Two steps down the road and Celtic are stripped of the title, 9-in-a-row is cancelled and it’s high-fiving all round at Ibrox.
It sounded good enough for Rae, for the best part of an hour he was able to throw mud at Celtic’s title win, when he wakes up in the morning Lennon will still be going for 10-in-a-row.
Switched on @ClydeSSB earlier while waiting to collect my curry. Heard @AlisonGConroy asking Alex Rae his opinion on a Belgian court case! Switched straight back off!

@ClydeSSB Can someone tell Alex Rae – there has been no precedent set.
Belgium & Scotland are two very separate Judiciary’s.— James O’Connell (@JamesOC30806083) June 5, 2020
@ClydeSSB What’s the chances of “Bear from Rutherglen” coming on to shout null and void every time Alex Rae is on? Oh, there we go.
Always Rutherglen
Always null and void— Lurgan 9IAR Klopp (@DancesWithTaxis) June 5, 2020
@ClydeSSB how in the world of punditry has Alex Rae ended up a pundit on your show, my god his bitterness and lack of knowledge and neutrality is so transparent its appalling, Fridays will be cancelled at this rate.

Exactly. What would the late Jimmy Sanderson have thought of Clde employing someone like Alex Rae. How their standards have declined over the years.
