It was ‘just’ a green heart but late into the night of Liverpool’s first title win in his lifetime Andy Robertson responded to a message of congratulations from Celtic.

Social media was absolutely swamped by messages after Manchester City lost at Chelsea to rule out the most unlikely of title comebacks. With seven matches left to play Liverpool are champions of England.

With 1.2m followers on Twitter, almost twice as many as Celtic, Robertson was kept busy with messages until deep into Friday morning but the tweet from Celtic clearly meant something to the Clarkston bhoy.

Robertson was part of the Celtic Academy that developed Marcus Fraser and Joe Chalmers but was released in 2010.

His story from that moment has been well documented, joining Queens Park he got a job behind the scenes, worked his way into the first team and a fairy-tale story was off and running.

Via Dundee United and Hull he is now in possession of winners medals from the Champions League, World Club Cup and EPL.

Next season he could be in line for an emotional return to Glasgow with Celtic hoping to join Liverpool in the group stage of the Champions League.
