Celtic fans piled in when TalkSPORT decided to retweet a clip from Andy Halliday’s interview and his asterisk claim.
As soon as he was released from his Ibrox contract the former Bradford City utility man started to repeat the message being spread across the media by Ally McCoist and Alex Rae.
At every turn, every opportunity, Celtic’s title win is to be discussed and belittled. Better to do that than review another epic failure from Steven Gerrard and the post Winter Break collapse.
Unfortunately for Halliday and the Null & Void lobby League One and League Two in the English Football League voted to end their season yesterday based on the same average points per game used by the SPFL. Scottish clubs got their prize fund pay-outs a month in advance of their English equivalents.
Totally overlooked by Halliday and the apologists is the fact that Stewart Robertson and Douglas Park voted to decide the season on average points.
Over 80% of SPFL clubs voted in favour of the proposal from the board, instantly the lower divisions were finished. Once clearance came through from UEFA for their proposal a unanimous vote of Premiership clubs voted to conclude the season.
A cheque for second prize went to Ibrox, Hearts were relegated and Celtic celebrated nine-in-a-row, again.
Halliday had four attempts at stopping Celtic winning the league- he failed every time. After arriving in the top flight in 2016 he has watched the hoops win 11 domestic trophies in succession, there is every chance that he’ll be watching many more alongside media buddies McCoist, Rae and Kris Boyd.
“#CelticFC were the favourites.” ??
“But if you can’t finish the season, I’m unsure how you can award a title?” ????
“There’s definitrly a asterisk over it.”
Ex #RangersFC man Andy Halliday says Celtic’s title should have an asterisk.
Do you agree? ? pic.twitter.com/HfPdmAqO7l

He does realise that Sevco voted to end the season because they couldn’t afford to continue and need the money… doesn’t he?
They threw in the towel… Plain and simple!

Ask him about his awful career instead of asking this wee irrelevant character about champions.

Andy’s career should have an asterisk over it

“Andy Halliday thinks” – stop right there

Talkin about asterisks next to other people’s achievements when the only reason he even played for his boyhood team was cos it got liquidated and reformed at semi-pro level. There’s an asterisk next to the reason any of us have even heard of the guy ffs

Absolute desperation from celtics favourite ever rangers player. You can actually hear the hurt in this poor excuse of a footballers voice.
