After 23 first team matches Michal Karbownik of Legia Warsaw is getting the Aaron Hickey treatment.
The full-back turned 19 in March but a 70-year-old who asn’t managed since 2013 is claiming that his value could triple if he played in central midfield along with a token mention of Barcelona.
Karbownik is apparently a target for Celtic. In richer times and on the back of Celtic signing Patryk Klimala the 19-year-old might be somewhere high on Peter Lawwell’s database but not just now.

The 19-year-old has also been linked with the likes of Leeds United and even Barcelona in recent months.
He’s emerged as a galloping full-back with Legia but fPolish manager Boguslaw Kaczmarek wants to see him moved in-field.
The former Lechia Gdansk manager believes Karbownik’s value would triple should be deployed centrally.
He told Sport : “If he is a full-back, (Legia Warsaw) would earn five million euros from selling him. But if Legia sold him as a ‘number ten’, they would get ten or fifteen million euros.
“In my opinion, the optimal place for Karbownik is in the middle of the field. He could play the same roles as Joshua Kimmich at Bayern Munich or Marco Verratti at Paris Saint-Germain. Karbownik is mobile and dynamic.”
With income taking a hammering Greg Taylor and Boli Bolingoli will offer competition for the left-back role. Speculating a few million on a teenage full-back won’t be happening any time soon.
Until Celtic Park is filled with fans transfer activity will be minimal. In the last two summer’s Celtic have made massive transfer surpluses thanks to Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney.
Karbownik and his representatives are clearly going all out for a transfer this summer, it’s highly unlikely that Glasgow will be his destination.
