Derby County are the latest club to be linked with Craig Gordon.

The keeper has been offered a greatly reduced contract by Celtic but has been linked with moves to St Mirren and Hearts.

Gordon is reported to have rejected the offer to move to St Mirren while there is a lot of uncertainty over Hearts who look like having to wait until October to start their campaign in the Championship.

Among the issues at Tynecastle would be going into a dressing room with players on wage cuts on a deal that would be expected to be on a par with fellow internationalist Steven Naismith.

Throwing open an English option The Sun reports:

DERBY have joined the hunt for Scotland keeper Craig Gordon.

The 37-year-old veteran has knocked back St Mirren and is mulling over a two-year deal from Hearts after his Celtic contract ended.

But Derby have now entered the fray, with the Championship side in the market for a new No1.

Celtic signed Gordon in 2014 as a free agent after two seasons out of action following an injury at Sunderland.

In January 2017 he was linked with a move to Chelsea, soon afterwards he signed a new three year Celtic deal.

Fraser Forster is Neil Lennon’s first choice signing but it could be into the new season before they get a firm answer from Southampton over bringing the former England keeper back for another loan.
