Odsonne Edouard has been announced as Celtic’s Player of the Year but it’s a new contract that hoops fans want to hear about.

With 22 goals from 25 SPFL Premiership appearances the young striker was the driving force in delivering 9-in-a-row, during the course of the season he only once went three matches without scoring a goal.

After signing a permanent deal in 2018 following a successful season on loan from Paris Saint German he is halfway through his four year deal.

Wary of the examples of Virgil van Dijk and Victor Wanyama Celtic fans are anxious to see Edouard stay for at least one more season to secure 10-in-a-row.

There hasn’t been a moments unrest from Edouard since he moved to Celtic as a teenager, initially as third choice behind Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths.

Celtic return to training tomorrow with six groups of five players scheduled to appear at Lennoxtown, next week the club should discover the qualification route to the Champions League group stage.
