Steven Gerrard has been milking Liverpool’s title success- an achievement that he has yet to experience in over 20 years as a player or manager.

Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Manchester City triggered scenes of celebration all around Anfield, ironically, in 2014 a slip from Gerrard in a match against Chelsea cost the midfielder the chance to complete his medal collection.

The squad that came so close under Brendan Rodgers was quickly broken up with Daniel Sturridge, Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling moving on as Jurgen Klopp rebuild the squad with now boasts ownership of the EPL, Champions League and World Club Championship.

Former Celt’s Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson have been critical to the success of the side with Jordan Henderson the only survivor from the nearly men of 2014.

Gerrard has been busy adding to his squad with Calvin Bassey and Jon McLaughlin training with last season’s failures.

Next Friday the SPFL Premiership fixtures come out, in the season ahead it’s hard to see Mister Gerrard surviving if he fails again with Celtic celebrating 10-in-a-row across the city.
