Scott Brown could bring back his famous Red Mohawk hairstyle- if it raises enough money for charity.

The midfielder’s shaven head has lifted nine successive SPFL Premiership trophies but before he arrived at Celtic he was known for some colourful creations as he broke into the Hibs team.

James McFadden enjoyed a similar look as he broke into the Scotland side with Brown ditching that look before his 2007 move to Celtic.

During Lockdown the return of Brown’s barnet has become a talking point on social media with Sky Sports catching up with the Celtic skipper following Friday’s solo training session.

Picking up on his interview with Sky Sports, The Sun reports the Brown saying:

“There’s no temptation to bring back the red Mohawk, none whatsoever – even though Griff would pay for this hairstyle!

“I’ve tried to pull it together a couple of times but it’s slowly getting on my nerves so it’s only a matter of time before it comes off again.”

But asked if he’d be open to growing it back in for charity “Definitely – anything for charity.”

Brown will turn 35 later this month with a year still to run in his contract which is almost certain to be extended at some stage in the new season.

With the new season starting on August 1 the Fifer is going out to become the first person to captain a club to 10 successive title wins.
