Ewan Murray has claimed that social media is awash with Celtic fans that have The Hague on speed dial.

The Guardian’s man on the fairways hasn’t taken relegation for his beloved Hearts very well, with Celtic fans winding him up on Twitter things are showing signs of spilling over.

On Twitter on Monday night he hit out at ‘chuckling Celtic fans who are only a disputed penalty away from breaking the internet’. By the time he logged on today his mood hadn’t lightened.

Various attempts at reorganising the SPFL to suit one club have been attempted, unfortunately for Murray and his fellow Jambos those plans have found little sympathy. The latest attempt was backed by just 16 of the 42 SPFL clubs, it wasn’t voted down by chuckling Celtic fans.

In The Guardian he claims:

Celtic’s ninth title in succession was uppermost in its thoughts. Consequences? They can wait. Social media is awash with Celtic supporters – who have The Hague on speed dial for refereeing controversies – pontificating about the validity of this SPFL outcome. The fear, one assumes, is that their latest championship – about which the wider resonance is questionable – could somehow be affected by the noise. If that tribalism is easy to comprehend, the general lack of criticism of the SPFL’s coronavirus approach is bewildering.

Since losing the vote Hearts have apparently started legal actions, what their claim is for is hard to work out. Taking action against a members’ organisation that didn’t vote their way is unlikely to stand up in court.

Next week the SPFL are expected to announce the Premiership fixtures, there won’t be any visits to Celtic Park for Murray’s Jambos.

The Championship is expected to start in October with three rounds of fixtures giving Hearts 27 matches to return to the top flight.
