Michael Sparkes has announced his departure from Celtic.
In January the young striker was linked with a move to Crystal Palace, it’s not clear tonight whether he has been released at the end of his contract or if he has rejected a new deal from Celtic.
With his father Raymond an agent for more than 30 years Michael should have a few options to continue his career which will almost certainly be outside of Scotland.
After 6 years of playing for my boyhood club it’s now time to move on. For the most part i’ve enjoyed the experience and had some great memories but looking forward to what’s in store next!

After being capped for Scotland at u-16 level Sparkes switched to Wales at u-17 level.
The future of under-age football in Scotland is under real threat from the suspension of the game in March and the financial impact of the 2020/21 season being played before greatly reduced crowds.
Hibs have already released three coaches with other clubs having to ensure the viability of their first team with savings and cut-backs taking place elsewhere.
