Even extended into October this transfer window will be hard pushed to eclipse the ‘Ryan Fraser to Celtic’ rumour on Twitter tonight.
The winger will be out of contract at Bournemouth next week, becoming a free agent and able to sign for whichever club he likes. Or more realistically whoever can pay him the most money.
Anyone that thinks he could be on his way to join Celtic really hasn’t been paying attention. It’s as likely as the claim last spring that Jose Mourinho was a contender to replace Brendan Rodgers.
As Celtic are discovering with Fraser Forster and Moi Elyounoussi, players from the EPL don’t come cheaply. As a free agent Fraser can hoover up even more money, a weekly wage at or around six figures, a four year contract and as much signing on fee as his agent can conjure up. Negotiations with Peter Lawwell would almost certainly be brief!
In the incredibly unlikely event that Fraser is logging in at Lennoxtown next week it won’t make contract talks with Ryan Christie, Odsonne Edouard and Kris Ajer any easier.
Neil Lennon has a well balanced dressing room. Those that have delivered are well rewarded in Celtic terms, if they want the sort of wages that Kieran Tierney and Moussa Dembele pick up they know the route south of the border.
At least half of the teams in the EPL will be interested in Fraser, as they were with Jermain Defoe in 2017. Bournemouth won that auction with a three year deal for the veteran, this summer Fraser can look forward to a similar lottery win.

Where is the Ryan Fraser rumour coming from?

Big rumours going around that Ryan Fraser of Bournemouth is in advanced talks with Celtic in a out of contract signing. Would be a huge signing for Celtic if this was to happen.
