The SPFL has announced details for the Cup with going for a record equalling fifth successive trophy win.

Jock Steon’ side lifted the trophy in 1966, 1966, 1967, 1968, and 1969 with ’s side looking to repear that achievement in the season ahead.

There were doubts over whether the tournament would go ahead but with a sponsor and TV deal in place the SPFL are ensuring it goes ahead with the same format over a different timeline.

Today the SPFL announced:

Round 2
Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November, 2020

Quarter-finals
Tuesday 15, Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 December, 2020

Semi-finals
Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 January, 2021

Final
Sunday 28 February, 2021

Celtic lifted the 2019/20 trophy in spectacular fashion with a 1-0 victory over ’s club last December to take their trophy winning run to 10 out of 10.

Dates have still to be announced for the semis and final but with a February Final the should be able to be played in front of a full house at .

The group stage, for clubs in the three lower divisions, will begin on October 6.
