Celtic have been suggested as a possible loan destination for Rodrigo Riquelme.
The Atletico Madrid winger will be sent out on loan in the season ahead with Celtic’s record of player development bound to make the Scottish champions an attractive prospect.
Transfermarkt describes Riquelme as a right-winger which reduces his chances of moving to Celtic. James Forrest will start the season in that position with Neil Lennon encouraged by Karamoko Dembele’s impact during pre-season matches.
Like Riquelme the Celtic teenager is in the final year of his contract with Lennon mindful that the more game time that Karamoko gets the greater the chances are that he will commit to a new contract.

And then there is Rodrigo Riquelme . He ends his contract in 2021 and Atlético wants to extend it. The 20-year-old wants minutes in a higher category and can also be loaned if he extends his bond. Teams like Celtic or Betis have already knocked on his door.
In recent seasons Celtic have taken Jason Denayer, Patrick Roberts and Daniel Arzani on loan from Manchester City with many positive results.
With the stakes high in the season ahead it seems unlikely that Celtic will be taking any young players in on loan, The only incoming transfer so far completed has been a further year on loan for Moi Elyounoussi.
