Shon Weissman has been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund- following in the path of Erling Haaland.

The young Norwegian left RB Salzburg during the January break and took the Bundesliga by storm with 13 goals in 15 appearances.

Weissman has a similar record to Haaland following an incredible season at Werberger and seems certain to be on the move this summer after signing a two year deal when he moved from Maccabi Haifa a year ago.

The Telegraph broke the news of Celtic’s interest in the Israeli internationalist but with the transfer window now open the market is becoming very competitive.

German website Wa reports:

The squad planning at Borussia Dortmund for the coming season is in full swing. A lot will probably not happen on the side of the entrances. At second glance, only one position seems understaffed, as the Erling Haaland intended does its job splendidly. Nevertheless, BVB coach Lucien Favre wants a second striker . How good that the rush for this position is big enough.

One who has taken a fancy to the idea of replacing Haaland impresses with an almost unsurpassable monster quota. Shon Weissman scored 30 goals in 31 competitive games for Austrian Bundesliga team Wolfsberger AC last season. The 24-year-old Israeli not only shot himself to the top of the scorer, but also his club in the master group.

Now Shon Weissman , who only moved from Maccabi Haifa to Austria last summer free of charge, wants to take the next step to becoming a top club. Preferably in the German Bundesliga , as he emphasizes. Preferably in the new black and yellow jersey from Borussia Dortmund . “And then a move to Dortmund , together with Haaland by storm – that would be something,” Weissman is quoted by the crown.

Weissman has already received approval for a change this summer from his club Wolfsberger AC. The Austrians are said to want between five and ten million euros for their exceptional striker. “If he wants to go and brings an association with which we can find an agreement, he will be able to go. He deserves that, “Wolfsberg President Dietmar Riegler told Sky .

A stay at the WAC is probably considered impossible. It is not yet clear where Shon Weissman will head in the future. It is possible that he is taking the same step that BVB striker Haaland took about six months ago. With 29 goals in 27 games, Haaland recommended for bigger games.

Celtic currently have four strikers in their first team squad but for different reasons there are question marks over the futures of Leigh Griffiths and Odsonne Edouard.

Patryk Klimala and Vakoun Bayo have still to prove themselves but unless there is a development with Griffiths or Edouard it’s unlikely that Celtic will move to bring in a fifth striker.
