Kristiyan Malinov has been linked with a move to Ibrox.

The midfielder currently plays for CSKA Sofia but could soon be competing with Ryan Jack, Steve Davis, Scot Arfield, Glen Kamara, Ianis Hagi Greg Docherty and Joe Aribo for a place in Steven Gerrard’s side.

Over the last three seasons he has scored six goals in the Bulgarian League with CSKA trailing in behind Ludogorets.

Picking up on a report from Bulgaria The Sun reports:

And 7sport.net say Steven Gerrard’s side are keeping a close eye on CSKA Sofia ace Malinov.

The 26-year-old has been with the First League outfit since 2016 after joining from Litex Lovech where he made his breakthrough.

Malinov has made over 125 appearances for Sofia and has featured 12 times for the Bulgarian national side since making his international debut in 2015.

Gers could face competition for the midfielder, though, with Belgian sides having reportedly made contact in the ‘last few days’.

Since losing the 2019/20 title to Celtic, Gerrard has added Calvin Bassey and Jon McLaughlin to his squad.

Andy Halliday, Jon Flanagan, Wes Foderingham, Jordan Rossiter Matt Polster and Jason Holt have left the club with Nikola Katic out injured for the foreseeable future.
