Neil Lennon is confident that Scott Brown will be fit and ready for the weekend friendly against Dundalk or Derry City.

Celtic ae hoping to find out later today which side they will face on Saturday with a match against Motherwell the following day to ensure that all the squad gets proper game time.

Brown is often referred to as a pain in the backside, or worse, by others but last night the skipper missed the 4-0 defeat from Paris Saint Germain due to a glute related strain.

It is just a neuro problem, stemming from maybe the glute. He wasn’t able to run at full pelt for the last couple of days so we decided not to take any risk with him.

Jamesy was a little bit tight in the hamstring so again there is no need to put them out there and run the risk of losing them for more than we should. So hopefully both of them will be available for Saturday.

Nir Bitton and Olivier Ntcham came into the side last night with Callum McGregor taking on the captaincy.

Despite the 4-0 scoreline there were a lot f encouraging aspects to the game with Celtic able to take the game to their opponents who have a domestic cup final and Champions League quarter-final coming up in the next few weeks.

Celtic return to Scotland this afternoon with Leigh Griffiths one of the issues that Lennon has to pick up on.
