Nathan Young Coombes is set to quit Ibrox to join West Ham.
The teenage forward was signed from Crystal Palace a year ago but it seems that the magic combination of working with Craig ‘star maker’ Mulholland and Graeme Murty hasn’t worked out as planned.
Coombes was talked of in glowing terms last season but with Steven Gerrard’s squad packed with mediocrity like Jamie Murphy, Greg Docherty, Brandon Barker and Jordan Jones his promotion prospects look bleak.
Last week Young-Coombes played for 10 minutes in the 4-1 defeat from Dundee United at Murray Park.
Nathan Young-Coombes away to West Ham, home sickness apparently but that’s clearly alot of balls, another hot young prospect walks out the door for nout, just another day at the Rangers Academy…

Seems another youth player leaving without as much of a peep for first team then in Nathan Young-Coombes. Obviously the argument is though, are they good enough, but you’ll never no if they don’t get a chance? Must have something about him to if West Ham want to sign him ????

Ha! Nah I’m happy to be independent and have distance from the club
Only stuff I know is Zungu looks true but that is hardly breaking or ITK as widely discussed
Strikers I have heard same rumours that’s all
& as boy mentioned earlier Young Coombes heading down south to W Ham

Last season Ianis Hagi was the youngest player to feature in the SPFL with Gerrard giving no encouragement to the starlets coached by Mulholland through the acclaimed Murray Park Academy.
Kai Kennedy is reported to have rejected a long term contract and is prepared to run down his current deal before making a move next summer with only a token Development Fee involved.
