Eleven days ahead of the grand re-opening of their rebranded club store the club from Ibrox has fallen foul of Glasgow City Council.

The fee for a Building Warrant to produce a new look Castoreland Store hasn’t been paid putting further doubt into the plans of Tom and Dominic Beahon to create a best in class store retail development.

After the hype around the strip launch the kit was only available for 36 hours as fans raced to hand over money to slip into the pure-quality-gear-man on the launch date of August 1.

When Sports Direct started taking orders for the home shirt the spectre of Mike Ashley hung over the company who produced a statement claiming that Castore were at liberty to strike deals with any retailer.

Another Ashley brand, House of Fraser briefly offered fans the chance to pre-order but after a couple of days both stores pulled the plug on the incredible shirt which one of the Beahon lads claimed could be the fine margin between winning and losing.

Despite creating a best-in-class website no option was available to purchase the home shirt, instead fans were directed to a holding page where they could leave an email and get details on August 1.

The Castore team have kept quiet over the last fortnight with 50,000 pre-orders at £60 a time safely in the bank.

With the Building Warrant still to be paid and no option available to purchase the home shirt they are under increasing pressure to ensure that fans receive their orders on August 1 with unprecedented demand from supporters to wear the shirt modelled by stars such as Jermain Defoe, Ianis Hagi, Ryan Kent and Ryan Jack.
