Ibrox fans will be able to pre-order their new Castore kit from the manufacturer ‘in the coming days’ according to a club spokesperson.

Over the weekend the Castore website has dropped any mention of the kit while the website that was taking orders has been reduced to a single holding page with a promise of full service from August 1.

For now fans can pre-order through Sports Direct and House of Fraser with both chains owned by Mike Ashley. Despite vague comments from Ibrox it appears that the matching agreement that Sports Direct have is still in place.

Since the kit launch on Wednesday Marketing supremo James Bisgrove has gone quiet with the brand new website promised by Stewart Robertson in May has still to go live.

Explaining the lack of options to pre-order the kit, an Ibrox spokesperson told The Sun:

The first batch of 50,000 home shirts that were made available via Castore.com, the entire batch were pre-ordered in just over 24 hours. This is a phenomenal response from the Rangers support across the globe.

Rangers supporters should expect a further range of pre-order products becoming available in the coming days on Castore.com.

House of Fraser are one of several third party retailers who will stock a limited number of Rangers products on a wholesale basis. We expect to announce further sports retailers across the globe who will stock Rangers merchandise.

The partnership with Castore ensures that every product will benefit Rangers through royalties, regardless of the outlet. We look forward to opening the new Rangers x Castore Retail Store at Ibrox on 1st August, as well as announcing further retail sites across the United Kingdom very soon.

Rather than take the pre-launch website down a simple message of ‘out of stock’ or ‘not available till September’ would be the reaction of most companies to selling out on items.
