The Daily Record is reporting interest from Lazio in Alfredo Morelos.

Rather than disregard or trash the report from ‘ItaSportPress’ the Glasgow based published has dusted out their Morelos Transfer Template and sprinkled it with some magic dust.

Last week Everton were reported to have joined the race which had no other contenders but a week on Carlo Ancelotti has still to table a bid for the Ibrox star.

Clubs from China to Qatar and back again have been keeping tabs and weighing up bids for two and a half years but nothing meaningful has arrived at Ibrox with Morelos kept happy with new contracts and pay rises.

Following the usual routine the Record reports:

A lack of squad depth was exposed in defeat to Milan, when Ciro Immobile’s and Felipe Caicedo were both suspended and the Biancocelesti were left with no recognised forwards.

As a result the Italians are expected to make a striker their priority this summer, and ItaSportPress reports that Rangers star Morelos is at the top of sporting director Igli Tare’s shortlist.

Lazio are looking for a high quality striker to rotate with Immobile, and have been impressed by Morelos’ 29 goals and 10 assists in 46 games during 2019-20.

It’s claimed Rangers value El Bufalo at around €20million (£18million), with clubs across Europe said to be interested.

In three seasons at Ibrox Morelos has picked up one runners-up medal and failed to score against Celtic, picking up seven red cards in the first 18 months of the Gerrard Revolution.
