Anthony Ralston has been told that he has no future at Celtic after being left out of the squads for Loughborough and the three friendly matches in France.

The right-back made his first top team start in May 2017 against St Johnstone then played against Paris Saint Germain a few months later.

His future seemed secured but an injury against Dundee a week later ruled him out for six months before ending the season on loan at Dundee United.

Ralston had a brief run in the side in December 2018, scoring against Motherwell then getting stamped on by Alfredo Morelos at Ibrox.

At the start of last season he made four appearances, including the 4-1 Europa League away win against AIK Solna, before moving on loan to St Johnstone.

The Celtic website announced that Ralston signed a contract until June 2022 but Video Celts understands that his contract is up at the end of this season. Celtic made a similar claim about Jozo Simunovic who left in the summer.

After playing 21 games on loan at St Johnstone last season Ralston will have no problem finding a new club with Celtic likely to safeguard their investment by putting in a healthy sell on clause alongside a token transfer fee.
