Steven Thompson will become the face of Sunday Sportscene with BBC Scotland announcing their line up for the new football season.
The former Ibrox striker has teamed up with Mikey Stewart over the last few seasons but after his wooden displays presenting Friday night Championship football Thompson has been promoted into the studio with no mention of Stewart.

Sportscene will return to a Saturday night slow for the first time in 20 years but with Sky Sports showing games on Sunday’s and matches shifted for the Europa League the Sunday show will present highlights from all of the weekend matches.
With no obvious ability other than an Ibrox background Thompson has been working his way through the ranks at the state broadcaster over the last decade.
After retiring from playing in 2017 he stepped up his commitments to the BBC just as Celtic were strengthening their grip on the domestic game.
Neil Lennon’s side will open their SPFL campaign on August 2 at home to Hamilton Accies, the match will be shown live by Sky Sports and included on the virtual Season Ticket with highlights later in the evening presented by Thommo.
