Hatem Abd Elhamed was the unlikely goal hero of Celtic’s training session at Loughborough University.
The defender has still to score in a competitive match for Celtic but tucked a chance away in training that Tom Rogic or Ryan Christie would have been pleased with.
Pushing forward from his right-back berth he took the shot early, firing across goal from 25 yards out to leave the ‘keeper plucking at fresh air.

Elhamed joined Celtic last July and immediately went into Mikael Lustig’s old position at right-back.
His conformation as a Celtic player was confirmed in the September win at Ibrox, imposing himself at right-back then moving into central defence to replace the injured Nir Bitton as Celtic achieved a win that set the early benchmark to 9-in-a-row.
An injury late on in the Europa League win away to Lazio took a three month chunk out of his season. With Jeremy Frimpong making his mark Neil Lennon has nothing to worry about over the right-back position in the season ahead.
