Neil Lennon has confirmed that he is in the market for another striker.

Over the last week Celtic have been strongly linked with Ivan Toney and Albian Ajeti but the only transfers completed have been the loan deal for Moi Elyounoussi and the £4.5m move for Vasilos Barkas.

Celtic open their defence of the SPFL at home to Hamilton Accies on Sunday but in just over a fortnight they face a Champions League qualifier with the manager looking to strengthen.

Odsonne Edouard is the clear first choice striker but with two years left on his contract there is always the prospect of another club coming in with a Moussa Dembele or Kieran Tierney type offer.

After Monday’s 3-1 win over Hibs Patryk Klimala and Leigh Griffiths were both praised by their manager but there are doubts over both strikers being able to deliver on a regular basis.

At the end of last season Jozo Simunovic and Jonny Hayes both left the club with a new central defender and left sided option likely to be priorities when Lennon goes back into the transfer market.
