Kieran McGrath has gone on loan to Icelandic Knattspyrnudeild Grottu.

The 19-year-old striker joined Lowland League side East Kilbride on loan in January with a move to the Icelandic League giving him an opportunity to accelerate his fitness through their summer season.

Grottu are sitting at the bottom of the Icelandic League after three defeats in their opening League games but have won two cup ties. On Saturday Grottu host HK who have three points from their opening matches.

Iceland is a new area for Celtic to send players on loan to but the summer season must be an attractive option as is the physical nature of the league.

Last season Celtic opted out of the reduced Reserve League with friendlies arranged alongside playing in the Glasgow Cup, Tunnocks Challenge Cup and Reserve Cup.

Celtic keeper Ross Doohan is reported to be a loan target for Ross County with the move dependent on a first team keeper arriving.
