Celtic are facing up to the prospect of selling Karamoko Dembele.

The 17-year-old is the most hyped player to come through the club Academy but with his contract expiring next summer there has been no indication that he is looking for a new Celtic deal.

Tellingly, after being listed as a substitute against Hamilton Accies and Kilmarnock the winger has failed to make the bench for Celtic’s last two matches. Yesterday at Tannadice Kerr McInroy and Cameron Harper were listed among the nine substitutes for the first time this season.

Video Celts understands that the players attitude hasn’t been all that it should be since Lockdown.

Celtic were delighted to get Karamoko on a professional contract shortly before his 16th birthday with Neil Lennon giving him his first team debut with a 45 minute appearance against Hearts on presentation day on the 2018/19 season.

Last season he made two substitute appearances while watching his England youth team-mate Jude Bellingham earn a big money move to Borussia Dortmund.

Celtic will be hoping for a late change of mind but Karamoko has been watched closely by the biggest clubs in Europe who won’t be put off by a seven figure transfer fee for the opportunity to develop the highly rated teenager.

If no move is agreed Karamoko can leave next summer with Celtic only picking up a token development fee.
