Vakoun Bayo is undergoing a medical ahead of completing his transfer to Toulouse.

The striker hasn’t taken any part in Celtic’s pre-season matches and has fallen to fourth choice for Neil Lennon who is keen to add another forward to his squad.

Bayo was signed in January 2019 while Leigh Griffiths was taking time out from playing but failed to establish himself with Timo Weah and Oliver Burke getting more game time.

Other than a brief flurry early last season he has rarely looked likely to make a contribution with a move to France in everyone’s best interests.

La Depeche reports:

Toulouse will welcome a fourth recruit. As announced by the Dépêche du Midi exclusively , Celtic FC striker Vakoun Bayo is expected to sign with Toulouse FC. According to our information, he is currently in Toulouse for his medical examination. The 23-year-old Ivorian international is coming out of a mixed season in Scotland (16 matches, 2 goals and an assist), but his statistics do not reveal everything. The player capable of evolving to the point and to the sides has regularly been the author of good entries into the game with the Greens and Whites. He will have to confirm the hopes born during his stint under the Slovak colors of DAC Dunajska Streda (24 games, 18 goals and 7 assists).

Odsonne Edouard remains Celtic’s out and out first choice striker with Griffiths and Patryk Klimala competing behind him.

Steven Fletcher, Albion Ajeti and Ivan Toney have all been linked with moves to Celtic over the last fortnight emphasising that Bayo was no longer in consideration for a first team place.
