Celtic are waiting on word from UEFA over the venue of their Champions League qualifier against KR Reykjavic.

The draw was made at 11am this morning with Celtic getting home advantage over the Icelandic champions.

Last week UEFA released detailed guidelines for every eventuality due to Quarantine restrictions across the continent.

The tie is due to be played on August 18 or 19 with UEFA still to give the match the go-ahead in Scotland.

Reacting to the draw Neil Lennon told the Evening Express:

Hopefully it will be at home. We are not sure if the game is going to be at a neutral venue or not. Hopefully it is at Celtic Park and we will be delighted if it’s at home. That’s all we can ask for and we will take it from there.

With the rounds decided over one match home advantage is all important but UEFA have four nations on stand-by to host matches where there are issues of travel. Thy also have powers to forfeit matches on certain grounds.

The draw for the second round will be made tomorrow based with Celtic assumed to be going through with another seeded draw.
