Flo Kamberi has humiliated Steven Gerrard by rejecting a move to Ibrox in favour of the oldest club on continental Europe- St Gallen of Switzerland.

In January the striker revealed a life long ambition by running out at Ibrox in a blue jersey but after being offered paltry terms has opted against a further stint of duty alongside Jermain Defoe and Steve Davis on their megabucks contracts.

Gerrard is desperate for fresh firepower in his side but with cash tight it looks like he’ll have to rely on Greg Stewart and Brandon Barker if Alfredo Morelos joins Defoe in the treatment room.

The Sun reports:

FLORIAN KAMBERI has REJECTED a two-year deal from Rangers to sign for Swiss Super League runners-up St Gallen.

SunSport understands Light Blues boss Steven Gerrard had finally sanctioned a near six-figure move for the Hibs outcast he had on loan last season.

But although the 25-year-old was keen on a permanent Ibrox switch he wasn’t prepared to accept the terms on offer.

And now he’s bound for St Gallen who will be in the Europa League next season after finishing runners-up to Young Boys.

Since finishing last season trophyless Gerrard has added Jon McLaughlin, Calvin Bassey and Leon Balogun to his squad.

Joining Kamberi on the way out were Andy Halliday, Sheyi Ojo, Wes Foderingham, Matt Polster, Jon Flanagan, Jordan Rossiter and Jason Holt.
