Kris Commons has claimed that Celtic are on the look out for a new left-back.

Greg Taylor has started all of the meaningful pre-season friendlies and also the opening SPFL matches against Hamilton Accies and St Mirren.

Boli Bolingoli was signed ahead of Taylor last summer and was the first choice until he was injured in November.

The former Rapid Vienna wingback signed for Celtic without speaking to Neil Lennon with Commons believing that his hoops career could be coming to an end.

Covering his column in the Daily Mail, the Daily Record reports:

I know for a fact that the club are currently in the market for another left-back, so you’d have to think Boli Bolingoli would be on his way out the door if an offer came in.

Neil Lennon is unlikely to want anyone to be leaving before reinforcements are brought in with the Celtic boss losing Jonny Hayes, Jozo Simunovic, Craig Gordon, Fraser Forster and Mauritz Bauer since the end of last season.

If Commons’ claim is true it makes the decision not to offer Hayes a new deal seem questionable with the Irishman falling into the ‘does a job’ category from his appearances last season.
