Albian Ajeti repaid the first part of his £5m transfer fee with a late winner away to deliver full points away to Dundee United.

The Swiss internationalist replaced Moi Elyounoussi in the 73rd minute then popped up in the six yard box 10 minutes later to drill in the rebound after a Ryan Christie effort had been parried by the keeper.

It looked like being an afternoon of frustration for the hoops as they pressed the home side back but failed to take advantage of their possession or over 20 attempts on goal.

Kris Boyd was on Sky Sports duty with John Hartson and looked deflated when he delivered his post match verdict with the former Celtic striker.

Benjamin Siegrist stopped almost everything that Celtic got on target but with the ball bobbling around Ajeti hammered a half chance beyond three defenders guarding the line to get Celtic back to winning ways.

The former West Ham man has still to catch up on the fitness of his new team-mates but today’s result will work wonders for his confidence with Celtic facing winless Motherwell next Sunday before the first international break.
