Celtic fans turned their anger towards Peter Lawwell after today’s 1-1 draw at Kilmarnock.
The weaknesses in the squad were obvious today as they enjoyed 70% possession at Rugby Park but managed just one shot on target while dropping wo points.
Since the squad returned to pre-season training it was obvious that there was a lack of competition in central defence while Leigh Griffith’s on-going issues leads to an over reliance on Odsonne Edouard.
Chris Jullien and Kris Ajer struggled throughout today’s match with Edouard shackled for space by the Killie defenders cutting down on Celtic’s offensive options.
Patryk Klimala was thrown on midway through the second half but it was the first time this season that he has played alongside Edouard with no genuine chances created.
All of these issues have been known for some time. Klimala was signed in January but is still unproven while the defensive options were thin even before Jozo Simunovic was released.
So far in the transfer market Celtic have replaced Fraser Forster and Craig Gordon with Vasilis Barkas with Moi Elyounoussi returning on another season long loan deal.
Steven Fletcher, Albian Ajeti and Ivan Toney have been speculated on over the last two weeks but with the first points of the season dropped and the Champions League just over a week away fans are looking for leadership from the board and statements of intent to ensure a historic season is properly sourced.
Eh? It was obvious what was going on. PL was daein same wi Deila ffs. Some of they moonshot signings hoping for a profit were a Lawwell production.

Some folk are desperate to criticise Taylor.IMO Taylor was not the worst.Brown Ajer Julien,Jamesie and evening Frimpong were poorer. The main issue is Lennon wanted a Centre Half in January but did not get one.Lawwell and co are the biggest barrier to the ten?

Rodgers was off the second Lawwell dithered on McGinn. Embarrassment.

It’s not Lennon, it’s Lawwell whi needs to realise we need strengthening.????

No manager with pedigree would work under Lawwell’s penny pinching. Hence Lennon got the gig.

Celtic had the cheek to blame the fans for not signing players. We have the money. Lawwell was paid £3.5 million last year. Yet we signed one goal keeper so far and not even been linked to centre half. Fans have repeatedly handed over their money. No excuses, sign some players. pic.twitter.com/r8Zm4GEDcA

How many more lacklustre performances like this are we going to see this season before Lawwell cracks open the biscuit tin and spends some money?!?!?
The 10 isn’t guaranteed.
And if we don’t win it, I wouldn’t want to be in Peter Lawwell’s position….— ??Smiley Smile?? (@rightupya) August 9, 2020
Its blatantly obvious we need a centre half and a better left back as well as a striker.
No excuses if Lawwell & Hammond don’t produce.

Celtic looking really stagnant and paying the price for not bringing in new faces and il say it again it’s not rangers who are Celtics biggest threat it’s our own Peter Lawwell

Watch a few fake stories of celtic making bids for players to try and appease the fans after a piss poor performance. We’ll win at the weekend, lawwell apologists will fall right back into complacency and funnily enough nothing will come of the “supposed transfer interest”
