Leeds United are set to become fourth EPL side to express an interest in signing Shane Duffy but his representatives have told Brighton that his first choice is a move to Celtic.

A report in the Mail on Sunday updates the situation with a wave of speculation linking Duffy with a move to Celtic which appears initially to be on loan.

Albian Ajeti’s move began as a loan before he signed a five year deal on Thursday but there are different dynamics involved in the move for the Irish defender.

Leeds join West Ham, Burnley and West Brom in targeting Duffy leaving Brighton with the dilemma of interest from four other clubs likely to be battling relegation next season.

The 28-year-old signed a new contract in October of last year but that appears to have been to guard his value as he was eased out of Graham Potter’s plans.

Duffy seems to fit the profile of exactly what Celtic are looking for in a central defender but with competition from four EPL clubs they’ll need to push the boat out far to secure the Irish internationalist.
