Linfield are one of four possible opponents Celtic will be drawn against in tomorrow’s Champions League first qualifying round.

The two clubs were drawn together in 2017 with Celtic agreeing to delay the first leg in Belfast to accomodate the July 12 holiday. Celtic refused to take tickets for the match which saw Leigh Griffiths booked for being the target for a Half Bottle of Buckfast.

Linfield have a preliminary qualifying tie to play on Wednesday with the First Round scheduled for August 18 or 19.

With travel restrictions in force across Europe it makes sense to have an idea in advance of where to travel to with Geographical considerations key.

Iceland and Sweden have been regular qualification venues for Celtic in recent seasons but the luck of the draw will be paramount this season.

Rounds will be decided in one-off matches without away goals giving the home teams a significant advantage.

Celtic will be seeded in each qualifying round that they reach, if they make it to the Play Off round that will revert back to home and away matches.

The first three rounds of qualifiers will be played Behind Closed Doors regardless of the conditions in the contry that the match is played in.
