Celtic’s hunt for a striker seems to have been extended to include Jamal Lowe.

Ivan Toney, Steven Fletcher and Albian Ajeti have all been linked to the hoops over the last fortnight with the Wigan striker the latest addition to that list.

Lowe managed just six goals in 40 Championship appearances last season after stepping up from Portsmouth.

Celtic’s interest seems a little far fetched with the other two clubs mentioned by Wigan Today looking like a better match for the 26-year-old:

Cardiff and Millwall are also reportedly in for attacker Jamal Lowe, although Celtic’s interest is believed to be stronger for a player who cost around £2million from Portsmouth 12 months ago.

Wigan went into administration soon after Lockdown with the 12 point reduction resulting in relegation from The Championship.

It seems like a fire-sale is now underway among a group of players that on the park appeared to be a steady mid-table team.

Dropping down a division results in reduced Television money of £6m on top of reduced crowds when fans are given the green light to return.

It appears that Lowe was signed on the back of an impressive season at Portsmouth but his previous career in non-league football suggests that his 17 goals during the 2018/19 season was as good as it gets.
