St Mirren face overseas competition of they want to sign Vakoun Bayo on loan.

The Ivorian has dropped to fourth choice at Celtic with Neil Lennon actively looking to bring in another forward.

Celtic rejected an offer from St Mirren in January but are likely to be open to offers if they land another striker.

Sending Bayo to St Mirren would give the striker experience of Scottish football but a deal to the continent would probably pay a greater part of his wages and increase the prospects of a move if he finds his goal touch.

The Sun reports:

But SunSport understands clubs from overseas have also registered an interest in Bayo, who cost the Hoops £2million from Slovak side Dunajska Streda in 2019.

That could make it tougher for Goodwin to land Bayo as he searches to add more firepower to his attack. Goodwin admitted he’s hunting for a striker after seeing his side beat Livingston 1-0 on Saturday.

After replacing hat-trick hero Odsonne Edouard, Patryk Klimala scored his first Celtic goal in today’s 5-1 win over Hamilton Accies.

Leigh Griffiths failed to make the bench for today’s match but with his scoring pedigree it’s unlikely that Neil Lennon will allow the former Hibs striker to go out on loan.
