Odsonne Edouard’s agent has claimed that ten titles is important for the striker.
Outside of Scotland it’s debateable how important winning a tenth successive title is to any footballer.
Bluntly put if given the chance to play in the group phase of the Champions League or be involved in a domestic title that involves visits to Kilmarnock, Livingston and Hamilton it’s unlikely that too many players would opt to for a gig at the Toni Macaroni.
Edouard is Celtic’s biggest asset, in each of the last two seasons the club has put the Balance Sheet ahead of the playing pool with Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney moving on elsewhere.
With two years left on his contract he is at a critical stage in his career but his agent, Lasana Koita had some encouraging words when he spoke to the Daily Record:
He is disappointed with the result on Wednesday especially as he was injured and could not play. I think the goal was certainly to qualify for the Champions League. That is football.
I will speak with him. It is not crucial for Odsonne to be playing in the Champions League but it is important.
We are going to wait because there is still a target for Celtic. There’s the Europa League and to go for 10 titles. Ten titles is important for Odsonne.
