Three years after being tipped for a £6m move to RB Leipzig Barrie Mackay is preparing for a new career doing short back and sides.

Under Mark Warburton the flying winger was getting the full John Fleck/Rhys McCabe treatment with Keith Jackson revealing interest from the German aces.

Like most Ibrox transfer tales nothing concrete emerged with Mackay being reunited with Warbo at Nottingham Forest in a £500,000 deal plus add-ons.

Forest quickly saw through Warbo, who used to work as a city trader, with Mackay punted on to Swansea a year later although Jason Cummings remains a drain on the wage bill.

Last season Mackay was reunited with Joey Barton on loan at Fleetwood Town but seeing the direction his career is taking he is getting in to the hair dressing business.

RB Leipzig have gone from strength to strength despite failing to land Mackay is a £6m swoop. Mackay did score the iconic first goal for the Tribute Act, in front of a hedge at Brechin in July 2012.
