Celtic are in line for a welcome boost on the back of Scotland’s match against the Czech Republic being postponed on Monday.

A large number of positive tests has forced the Czech FA to postpone the match with the ball back in UEFA’s court with a 3-0 forfeit the logical conclusion.

Last night Ryan Christie, James Forrest and Callum McGregor were in action against Israel with Greg Taylor among the substitutes.

Rather than an early Tuesday morning return from Prague those four players can enjoy a rare weekend off before returning to Lennoxtown on Monday to prepare to face Ross County on Saturday.

UPDATE: Uefa say that the match on Monday will go ahead as scheduled, the Scotland squad is scheduled to fly out to the Czech Republic on Sunday.

A number of Celtic players will still be involved in international matches early next week bt having the Scottish core back earlier than planned will allow Neil Lennon additional time to prepare for the trip to Dingwall.

That match is followed four days later with the rearranged match against St Mirren before a home game with Livingston on September 19.
